As a mom of two daughters under two, you'd think diaper rash is something I'd be a little too familiar with, but truth be told, my older daughter never struggled much with irritations in her diaper area, and she's still blessed with a very healthy bottom. So that's why I felt like such a newbie when my new daughter developed a nasty red diaper rash. As a second-time Mom, I was sort of expecting everything to feel a bit "been there, done that", but my little one's sore bum really sent me reeling, and I'd never needed to use a diaper ointment on my first, so I didn't even know where to begin to look.
I don't really have the luxury of spending ages in the drugstore aisles reading labels and comparison shopping for diaper creams, so I asked a bunch of girlfriends what they used. Well: if I asked four friends, I got four different answers! So I was back to square one. I really wanted a product that used all-natural ingredients, and one that was made by a company that had ethical standards as well. So I was thrilled to find a sample of Burt's Bees Baby Bee diaper ointment along with the bath-time products I received for testing.

I was even happier to find this soothing diaper ointment is rich with vitamins A and E to help nourish and reconditions skin baby's skin, while chamomile moisturizes and soothes. Sweet almond oil and beeswax, natural barriers, create an emollient layer to seal out wetness that can irritate baby's delicate skin. I started using it at every diaper change and noticed results almost immediately. Now my baby's bottom is healthy and smooth, she's not in any more discomfort and everyone can rest a little easier.
Burt's Bees® products are free of petrochemicals and potentially harmful synthetic ingredients
such as Phthalates, Parabens and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and they are never tested on animals. Also Pediatrician-tested. This makes me feel confident using them on my children.
Thanks to our partners at Burt's Bees you now have a chance to try their fabulous 100% Natural Baby Bee products. UrbanMoms is giving away 8 Burt's Bees Baby Bee gift baskets. All you need to do is comment below and let us know why you prefer to use natural products on your baby and children.

I find that kids have so many allergic reactions to different products and foods these days with allt he chemicals being used in products. It is a welcome to use natural products like Burt's Bee as I know it is natural and safe with out all the additives to harm my children's skin.
I love the burt's bees products... they make my baby's skin smell so wonderful and feel so soft. My kids have sensitive skin so natural products are the best to use, to avoid irritation and reaction.
I agree - the diaper ointment is terrific! I prefer natural and/or organic products because they are less irritating to my little guy's sensitive skin and I know he's not absorbing anything that might do him harm over time.
my kids have allergies and sensitive skin , so i have always tried to use high quality natural products, why have them suffer through itching or rashes if not necessary , and who knows what chemicals get absorbed through the skin, so if you use natural products you dont have to worry about that
I have so many good things about the diaper ointment and that is so important to hear from other moms. I love that it is natural too-bonus!!!!!!!
I use natural products on my family's skin because the skin is the gateway to our bodies. When you look at the list of ingredients, many of them linked to cancer, in the mainstream products, it is appalling that they are marketed for use on kids. Thank you to Burt's Bees for providing an excellent alternative!
I don't have babies anymore, but I sure like the fact that my kid's are using natural products and Bert's Bees are terrific! Love the smell and the texture.
Our whole family has sensitive skin (thanks to the red-head genes!) and most skin products cause reactions. I've tried a few of the Burt's Bees products and we've had no reactions at all.
My 1st son has very sensitive skin to everything including sun screen. Trying all sensitive skin products, I've found that Burt's Bees products work for him, so I use these products on all 3 of my children. It's confort knowing that it's not going to irratate my kids skin.
I think its best to use natural stuff as it has been around for ever and works. This chemicals cant be good.
its great to have a natueal stuff and something with no chemicals
I like natural as I believe it is better for my kids skin and for the environment. You never realy know what chemicals are in other items and when they will be recalled for said chemicals. no such worries with natural products.
I prefer natural products, for my baby, you never know what kind of allergies, your baby has, or how they could react to non natural products, so I'd rather not chance it & I've always noticed that natural products smell so much better :D
Natural is always best. Who would want to put a load of chemicals on their baby?
I feel that natural is best for long term use on skin. Too many products are made up of ingredients & chemicals that just irritate the skins natural order ruining it before it becomes strong enough to defend itself against these harsh chemicals. Like many above I also have sensitive skin and i found that Burt's Bees was a wonderful start to the day making our skin soft, nice smelling and not irritated.
As a mother of a little girl who has been battling excema for so long, I prefer to use natural and organic only on her. Besides, who needs more chemicals than we already eat and breathe every day??
I love how great these products work and smell! I've tried other brands on my first, and the terrible smell just made me think that there had to have been horrible chemicals and other ingredients that were unnatural in them. Burt's Bees products are fantastic!!
My older son used to get diaper rash all the time and none of the products we tried worked. Then my cousin who is a nurse recommended Burt's Bee Baby Bee Skin Creme. After just a few applications his rash completely disappeared. We have been using the creme ever since, it works equally well preventing future rashes. In general we found products with all natural ingredients are most agreeable with his sensitive skin so we are now using only natural products for both my toddler and newborn.
There are so many hidden chemicals in everything, it is nice to have a product that is a no brainer .. safe and simple for my kids.
My baby has very sensitive skin I want to use products that are natural, mild, organic and won't irritate his soft skin.
Everyone in my family has sensitive skin, so we use this for everyone not only on the youngest. It's an excellent product. If i get a rash on my arm from something...eg perfumes. I use this and it relieves the rash.
I want to provide my children the chance to a long and healthy life right from the start. There is so much in the news lately of "this product does this" "this product causes that", its frightening, even in a simple lip balm. From products to foods, I am always looking at labels now. I find that the natural products help me feel confident that I am providing the best for my girls, not having to worry about unnecessary chemicals and toxins entering their systems. Perhaps by being aware now and making small changes will challenge our children to make even bigger changes on these topics!!! Keep it up Burts Bees!
I want to give my children every benefit, using natural products ensures that they will not have an allergic reaction to the products.
I prefer to use natural products on my young grandchildren and HINT: Another grandchild is expected in October of this year, because we all know that anything that is applied to skin will enter the body. It is for this reason that I have encouraged my daughter to use Burt Bees products on her children as I did with my twin's in the early 80's. Has my daugther listened? She has recently purchased Burt Bee products not too long ago.
I always try to use natural wholesome products for my kids from food to body lotion to their t-shirts.I would love to try Burts Bees as it seems like a product created with care of the environment and people in mind. The fact that this company does not conduct animal testing is fantastic !
Love Burt's Bees! I prefer to use natural products for many reasons. Better for the environment, better for our bodies and less chance of allergic reactions.
Natural products are something you can feel good about using on your children, and yourself. They are much better for your body, and today with all the harsh chemicals that are around everywhere, why not take care of yourself where you can?
That way I can feel confident that I am not slathering my baby in petrochemicals!
Just pure natural ingredients for my little baby bee!
I love the burt's bees products... they make my baby's skin smell so wonderful and feel so soft
I absolutely love Burt's Bees products! I have been using 'all natural' detergents, shampoos, soaps since having my beautiful 3 children!
Being a natural product Burt's Bees is ideal for children. My son is really important and his health comes first.. using natural products will ensure his well being and keep his skin safe and protect it.
It's for piece of mind - you never know how your child will react to a product and knowing that the ingredients are natural is the best choice hands down. I want my child safe from harmful things in life, and that includes what is put on her skin.
I would like to use natural products whenever I can.
Babies are the most delicate creatures on the earth and so is their skin. Being parents we all try to protect them in every way. I hate all the soaps and moisturizers with chemicals out there as i have really bad eczema in my hands just because of these things which claim to make your skin soft and nourished but make them even more dry just after few minutes of use.
I always prefer natural products for my both kids who are now 2 and 4 to protect them from these problems. Honestly speaking i never tried BURT'S BEES before but after reading these comments i would love to introduce these for my kids and myself with the hope that it will be best for us.
Good on Burt's Bees for making natural products. I've noticed in the past few years my skin reacts to many products like never before - some brand name moisturizers actually make my skin sting. I really believe there's so many toxins in skincare and household products and cleaners now. We need to go back to the natural way of living and I think Burt's Bees is one of the ways to go. I've used some Burt's Bees items but would love to try more. And hope your baby's bum is much better :)
I love any of their lip balms, the natural ingredients condition my lips in this dry weather!
Natural products are better for little ones with their sesitive skin
I remember using baby powder and it always clogged...Babysitting a friends baby i was impressed when i tried Burts bee.. our next child is on the way and will be stocking up on burts bee...
I want to give my children every benefit, using natural products ensures that they will not have an allergic reaction to the products.
Burts Bees products are just fabulous! I would recommend them to any new parent. It's rare to find natural products in your regular pharmacy store. So I love that the products are reasonably price, easy to find, and most importantly natural for my baby's skin.
Since I use Burt's Bees products with confidence for myself, I would not hesitate to use the baby versions on my little one.
We use as natural/close to the earth for as much as I can afford because my kids and I all have some pretty good allergies (dairy, soy, gluten, alot of nuts and some sugars are a problem though not a allergy) we also try hard to not eat/use chemacles for the same reason. It is amazing the diffrence being "clean" makes for our bodies.
I am very concerned about allergies. I have developed them in my later years, but what I find alarming is the number of allergies in children. I am convinced this is a result of our current environment and therefore find it extremely important to use natural products.
No product can compete with the mild and natural scents of Burts Bees. As well, we can only appreciate the care for the environment that this company shows- keep it up, we love these products!
I like to use natural products on my kids because natural products usually work just as well but I don't have to worry about bad reactions or future effects of chemicals.
I love the way Burt's Bees products smell and the way it make all 4 of our family members skin feel silky smooth...I never used the diaper rash cream(my kids almost never get rashes) but I do love the facial cleansers, body washes, shampoo and conditioners.
Keep up the good work Burt's Bees
I love the smell and feel of Burt's Bees products. Have introduced them to my family.
This is an easy one! I prefer natural products because we are a part of nature! Obviously, the things that nature provides are going to be better for ourselves and our children than harsh, man-made chemical formulations. I've used the Burt's Bees Diaper Ointment and it is one that absolutely blows me away. Baby boy gets pretty awful diaper rash sometimes (I'm talking bleeding, peeling skin, the whole works) but with Burt's Bees Diaper Ointment, any symptoms are gone in a day and it prevents the rash like nothing else I've ever used. Best of all, Baby loves it! The only way I can get him to sit still for a diaper change is to promise him he can use his Burt's Bees "Bom!"
I love natural products as they contain no nasty chemicals and work just as good or even better then other products!
why put chemicals on their sensitive skin?!?
My boy is 2 year old, we only apply natural products to him to avoid any allergies.
I always look at Burt's Bees when I need a new bottle/tube of body care product!
Natural products are great because you know they will not irritate your baby's or your own skin as much as regular products which have chemicals & perfumes in them.
More and more it's becoming so clear that natural products are the way to go. I'm so thrilled that these items are so easy to find now. My kids suffer from eczema and natural ointments from Burts Bees have been wonderful. My personal favorite is the banana hand cream - smells so good I could eat it!
The more natural and pure the product, the less likely it will be to irritate the skin. Also, it's easier on the environment to use products that are less processed.
I love natural products, especially us mom.
Plastic is not good for the enviroment, so I am a firm believer only natural products should be on our skin as well.!!!
Well don't have any kids but nieces and nephews and need a barrier cream on occasion for myself and always break out from them, interesting review I will have to try it. I would love this basket to try I have spent an enormous amount of money trying to find some good lotions and creme and haven't found one that lives up to what they say!
I prefer using natural products like Burt's Bees because I don't like putting possible carcinogens on my body or on my family. My son has senstive skin so using Burt's Bees also minimizes allergic reactions.
Natural products are very important for the skin. Anything you put on your skin is absorb so on my baby all natural, even for me.
I 1st discovered Burt's Bees products while visiting relatives in North Carolina
what a great product, I started with the lip balm and quickly ventured try more the creams are great
when I had my son I bought a baby pouch of products, they were great
loved the fact that is natural and no chemicals. we all have very sensitive skin
he loves their bath stuff
to win a basket would make our day and of course save some money:)
Babies are so precious so why would I want to put colors and dyes on their skin? Some of the products we buy are full of perfumes, additives, preservatives and dyes not to mention some of the definitions on the bottle that even I can't read. I rather go all organic with my baby when it comes to how I care for her.
Thank You Burt's Bees for this amazing contest!
Skin is the biggest part of our body , why not cover it with all natural products . Especially for babies its so very important that there is no perfumes or chemicals as it can affect the development even of your childs brain. Alot of the disorders in children now adays can be linked to simple things like food colouring , plastics, dye's in our everyday life. why not try and use as little of them as possible. At least with Burts Bee's its completely guilt free as a mom to use . Thanks Burt's Bee's for always making fabulous products and for this great contest !
Natural products are always best. My children don't have an allergic reaction to the Burt's Bees products. I trust the Burt's Bees products for my children.
Now tell me, why would any mother use chemicals on their sweet baby? Burts Bees products are fairly new to me... but the few I have tried, I really love! Looking forward to trying many more, and love love love the fact that they are all natural... cuz we all deserve the best!
been using Burt's Bee all natural products .my family have sensitive skin so we try not to buy anything with perfumes or chemicials that are added to most products that are out there .my family don't have any problems with Burt's Bee products .so i will keep using those products .
Using natural products lessens the chance for babies sensitive skin to have an allergic reaction. I detest the thought of putting chemicals on my child.
I love the Burt's Bees products! They make my kids skin smell so good and their skin feels so soft. My kids have sensitive skin, so natural products are the best to use, to avoid irritation and reaction.
I love Burts Bees products! I use natural products with my son because his peditrician has recommended it because he has sensitive skin that is prone too dryness and rash.
