Do you watch Parenthood? The show kills me seriously. Last year it was almost too painful to watch as one couple was struggling with adoption and two of my best friends were as well. The acting is that good that sometimes it was too draining. Last night I caught up on last week's episode. Here is the final scene. There were no need for words as Christina came back from her doctors office following her mammogram.
Sob. This Thursday, I'll be back at the doctors office for an ultrasound. They found something on my mammogram last week. Now, logically, I'm not worried. I'm truly not. We come from a family of lumpy boobed women. But it would be a lie to say I haven't been losing some sleep over it. Particularly last night after that episode. Christina stood there looking at her son picking out his puppy with his dad. She just stood for a minute, taking it in, recognizing how her life was never going to be the same. Let's just say when Will came into my room for his nightly bed switch last night. I didn't care and I held him a little bit tighter.
The timing is all kinds of crazy since this Sunday, I'll be joining a slew of other UrbanMoms and their families running (hahahah WALKING) in the Run For The Cure. I haven't been actively fundraising since I do that for Autism BUT if you want to support our team and our AMAZING Captain Jason, please visit our UrbanMoms team page. Or better yet? Come out on Sunday and do it with us!!!!
And GO GET a mammogram if you're over 40. Please do. I promise you - it's not as painful as it's made out to be. Especially if you have big boobs. Crappy for your golf swing, but the mammogram is a piece of cake. Check your boobs. Know your boobs. Hey get your partner to do it...could lead to Funkytown (that's another Parenthood reference for you)! Oh and cross your fingers for me on Thursday. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I'll take all the luck I can get!
