The best thing about growing up is realizing what makes you happy. When I was younger I spent New Year's racing from party to party, sometimes finding myself at midnight trying to hail a cab sopping wet, freezing cold and a little sloppy. Once I threw up over a railing right into a pair of shiny ski boots, many times I kissed someone I did not like, several times I pretended to have a good time but really wasn't, and once I remember an incident with a police officer.
Tonight I will drink champagne with real friends. To hell with the sham friends.
