Yup - flameless battery operated candles!!! I now use them in my bathroom instead of the traditional candles for baths as well. Check out http://www.batteryoperatedcandles.ca/ to find them. Love that they flicker still, and just a simple on/off switch :) MUCH safer, and cleaner!!
And LOVE your new backyard! Enjoy!
I am old fashioned when it comes to things like candles
but I hate unnecessary mess-so I amy have to come over to your way of thinking
thanks for the tip
Let that pile of wax get bigger and bigger and bigger as a testament to how many great times you've had in the backyard.
YES! I like this idea. Like wrinkles. EMBRACE. xn
What about backyard pedicures with "hot wax foot wraps" while sipping wine on a hot night strategically situated under the melting chandelier.
I like your way of thinking
I'm in, Barb. Call me when you are there and I'll bring the wine.
ok girls. but no matter how much we drink I am not waxing anybody's unwanted body hair
i know that partylite has these "peglites" (or they used to anyway) that are basically glass cups with a post on the bottom that fit into the candle holder part. you can burn votives that way. i also like marianne's idea...if you get a high enough pile then you can put a candle in the wax volcano for another light source! :)
I was going to suggest the same as Roxanne and go with flameless candles. You'd be amazed at how real looking they are.
I love your yard. So welcoming and quaint. Well done!
I love, Love, LOVE your backyard, Village!! Holy smokes, that's pretty...
Nevermind the drips... but, how can you keep them from falling on people? I have no idea. Ack. And maybe you can find a place to hang an large, romantic mirror to double up the light? Just an idea...
Pretty birdbath right underneath it, perhaps? there are some really lovely ones out there, and then if you decide to reuse the wax, it's even all contained for you. Or perhaps a little table with a tray, if the placement would suit that better, and then you can move the tray to use the table easily.
i got these amazing solar powered paper lanterns that are perfect, easy and so low-maintenance. i am going to take a picture of them and email it to you!
