From Russia With Love

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage...

That's what we sang in the school yard along with kissing tag.  That's some really scary schooling in romance.

So what happens when it happens out of sequence?  For me there was love and then marriage but no baby in that union, the baby came years later.  There are all kinds of alternatives to the sing song sequence but I think that there's something about it that is stuck in my consciousness.  There isn't a kids song about love, divorce, love, break up then finding your baby in a baby carriage in a foreign country.  That would a pretty complicated little ditty for a kids tune but maybe the Wiggles could give it a try.

However, it seems some have found love apres single motherhood.  I have seen two examples lately, one from a cyber friend and one from a celebrity.

Sandra Bullock has found love again with Ryan Reynolds after her nasty breakup with bad boy Jesse James and her single adoption of her adorable baby Louis.
Here's the scoop

Star reports that during their Wyoming vacation, Ryan brought up the subject of marriage.

"Ryan told her he was ready to tie the knot whenever she wants," a source told the magazine. "And after seeing how quickly she's bonded with baby Louis, she decided she's ready to pull the trigger, too. So they started discussing the logistics of pulling off a low-key, barefoot wedding that would reflect theirlaid-back lifestyle."

The wedding will be small with only 25 guests, Sandra's son Louis will be the best man the pair will feed the party with BBQ from Sandra's favorite restaurant in Austin.

This makes me happy.  I adore Sandra Bullock and kept the People Magazine cover story of her adoption out on my coffee table as inspiration during my break up and adoption journey.

The other example is a woman I met through cyberspace.  We were both registered with Kaz when the country closed to International Adoption.  We cried together and gave each other pep talks during the super stressful stage of finding another country and starting over.  She chose Vietnam and is now home with her beautiful daughter.  I saw on Facebook that she is now engaged!  She found love with someone she's been friends with for years and the three of them have decided to officially become a family.

Isn't it interesting that the right man didn't reveal themselves until after these women fulfilled their hearts desire of motherhood?  If you believe in the law of attraction then it's not odd at all.  By choosing to move forward with their dreams regardless of their relationship status they opened their hearts to love and in that process found an unexpected bonus.

I think that happens a LOT - but maybe I'm kidding myself. But honestly - I feel like you're in a different head space. Having just started dating again since having Will - i now have ZERO expectatations - I'm not looking to get married, I'm not looking for a baby daddy. I can just enjoy you and hope you enjoy me and not have to worry about it. It's refreshing....

oh and Bullock - she probably had rebound sex with him but he's shagging that freaking Blake Lively now...

I like your attitude Sara. I will make that my mantra

Lovely post darling! You are an excellent writer and I've been enjoying following your voyage with Roman. You inspire me!!

Thanks Jenn,
Those were exactly the words I needed to hear today xoxo Hope to dance with you soon!
