In our opinion: A tragic mystery that seems to likely to remain unsolved. The military's not talking...even her family still doesn't know the means of her death. We hope that the true story will eventually come out and her family will find closure.
In our opinion: It's a tragic demonstration of the horrible repercussions of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This soldier killed five fellow-soldiers upon leaving a military stress clinic in Baghdad. He had been referred there only a week earlier and had his own weapon confiscated.
In our opinion: Our thoughts go out to Farrah and her family during this terribly difficult time. You may want to tune in to documentary "Farrah's Story" this Friday on NBC.

In our opinion: Unity between the governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan and the US should hopefully lead to better chances for peace in this war-torn region.
In our opinion: All marriages go through their tough times - it's sad that the Gosselin's have to live theirs in the public eye. Then again, when you have a reality show based on your life, you do sort of invite that public eye in. Still. How much does it suck to be Jon or Kate Gosselin right now? A lot.

In our opinion:There is some importance to identifying the "index patient" or "patient zero" in an outbreak. We hope that finding this little guy -- who survived his brush with swine flu -- will help researchers devise tests or even a vaccine.
In our opinion:Shining the spotlight on child poverty isn't pretty, but we hope it moves individuals and nations to help improve the lives of all children in need. There are so many of them!

In our opinion:Khadr, who was 15 at the time of his original detention in Afghanistan, remains in Guantanamo Bay. According to international law, Khadr was a child soldier and therefore should never have been detained. Despite this Federal court order, Harper says his government may try to overturn the judge's decision.
In our opinion:So many people voted in this election that there were long lines and a shortage of ballot boxes in some polling stations. Would that we had the same problem here in Canada during our federal elections!
In our opinion:Should be interesting. The producers chose Chris Weitz (who directed "American Pie") to direct the second film in the series (now in production in Vancouver). Now they sign the man behind "30 Days of Night" - a decidedly more violent and - well - terrifying vampire flick. We'll wait and see...no doubt our tween daughters will be dragging us to all the sequels.
