apparently, Joaquin Phoenix is quitting the acting gig to focus on his music. Phoenix has been working on an album with Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess. The move into music follows his successful turn in Walk the Line, in which the actor performed all of Cash's famous songs. In addition to his Oscar nomination for best actor, Phoenix won a Grammy for his work on the soundtrack.
i hope this isn't true. i love him. i've loved him FOREVER. since Space Camp and Russkies. what do you think....momentary frustration with the business...or the real deal?
I wonder why he can't just do one without totally cancelling the other? If he wants to focus on music, that seems fine, but I don't understand the decision to stop acting forever. That seems a bit unnecessary.

OK. The dude is totally drunk or stoned or something. He was totally slurring his words. Brutal. You'd think having your bro die from an overdose might be enough but I guess that world is just wacked. Sad.
