i plan to bring you - very shortly, i.e., after i've sorted through about 85,000 Golden Globe red carpet shots, the Golden Globe best and worst dressed awards...but for now, i thought we could talk about the show highs and lows...
best moments:
Kate Winslet winning TWO awards for The Reader and for Revolutionary Road...AND referring to Angelina Jolie as "the other one"
Ricky Gervais, toasted.
Tracy Morgan, toasted.
Tina Fey thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press and mentioned that growing up she had all their action figures.
a Slumdog Millionaire sweep!
a win for Heath Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight
the dude accepting his award for Slumdog Millionaire and slipping in an unedited "fuck" (which, apparently, was bleeped out in the US but not on CTV in CAnada. haha)
Demi Moore tells her daughter - publicly - what i'd been wanting to tell her all night...STOP SLOUCHING!
worst moments:
Drew Barrymore's hair. seriously! seriously?
Blake Lively and Rainn Wilson's flubbity flub of their lines.
Renee Zellweger? oh my good god!
Sacha Baron Cohen's jokes. and his hair.
THE Don Cheadle being introduced as Hotel For Dogs' Don Cheadle. ouch.
Sad I only caught the last hour of the show. I kinda loved Drew's hair - it was so 70's Policewoman/Bridget Bardot-y beach sexy. And Hollywood must hate Sacha right now, because if Robin Williams or anyone other comic said those same jokes they woulda laughed. Kate's speech was lovely in an overwrought kind of way, and now I REALLY want to see Slumdog Millionaire - it will be this year's little movie that could a la Juno.
