God, I loved that.

This episode was kind of a waste because really, Corrie? Do we know anything about her other than she's a virgin? Based on her airtime (NONE), she wasn't long for this show. And when Jake says, "She won't open up to me" he obviously means "She won't do me in the fantasy suite."

Oh, Gia. I really liked you until you vomited out that "Is it okay to fall?" GAH. Could the lines on this show be any more cliche.

Best line of the night: Jake to Gia: Can I have some time alone with you? Gia to Vienna: You can have my salmon. hahahahaha!

So, who do you think is going tonight...in the most! shocking! rose! ceremony! yet!

LOST is back...which means that my brain, once again, is lying in a puddle of goo on the floor. After watching three straight hours (twice) this week, including the recap episode and the 2 hour season premiere, LAX, I have more questions than ever, and worry that there's just no way to tie up the last 5 seasons in 16 episodes. It can't be done!

(lies! all lies!)

We not only get two hours of LOST this week, we get two different Lost worlds entirely. The first gives up a glimpse of what Oceanic flight 815 would have been like without the crash. We get a lovely little scare as Rose (a Rose that Jack doesn't know) talks Jack through some turbulence. We get Jack saving Charlie's life and while Charlie gets taken off the plane by security he says, "I was supposed to die!" Chilling, that. There goes Jack always dicking around with fate. We get a Shannon-less Boone chatting up a still-paralyzed John Locke who claims to have just been on a walkabout in Australia. We get Kate, still handcuffed. We get Sawyer chatting up a "luckiest guy in the world!" Hurley. And OHMYGOD, we get a really bizarre exchange between one Desmond Hume (Haven't we met before?) and Jack. WHAT? What was Desmond doing on the plane? and why did he disappear so quickly? Where did he go? We get an even more bizarre exchange with Locke and Jack discussing Oceanic's oopsie moment of losing Christian's body. We see Jin and Sun, miserable and pulled over by security. Maybe we are shown this to bring EVILLocke's words into play..."Locke was the only one who never wanted to go back because he was the only one who realized how pitiful the life he left behind him really was."

Also? Why is Jack's neck bleeding?

Also? Where are Michael and Walt?

And why do those underwater sharks have Dharma logos on them?

So, the Jughead plan WORKED....

Or did it?

Because just as we are getting used to this idea, we see Kate up in a tree. In the present (thanks, Ginny!). So, really, the bomb just moved them into the present and nothing's really changed. Juliette dies and Sawyer becomes ANGRYSawyer and Juliette dies in his arms after mumbling something about going dutch for coffee (significant?) and before she can tell him something important...two words "IT WORKED" which, what? what worked, J? The Jughead experiment? Because now it sure doesn't look that way, does it? Maybe something else worked...maybe Juliette gone done and got herself knocked up or something? or Maybe SIR MILES was lying full stop and she didn't even say that at all. oh, Miles, you are a crafty devil.

So, Sayid is only mostly dead because some random dudes at a temple can fix him. The now dead (remember that? When EVILocke threw him into the fire?) Jacob tells Hurley to take him to see Sir john Lennon and Sir "English tastes like crap" who can fix Sayid.

and after they think they failed Sayid wakes up after taking a bath in some unclean water all "what happened?" Sayid = Jacob? YES? Did Jacob find a loophole of his own? and who are these people and why is the flight attendant from 815 with them?

And the real Locke is in the sand all dead and stuff. But the real question is...how long has EVILocke been NOT the real John Locke? He claims to know what Locke was thinking when Ben hanged him. SO...EVILOCKE is the smoke monster. duh, duh duh duh. NOT all that satisfying, actually. BUT, he does say something interesting to Richard about not seeing him in the chains any longer. What's that about, Locke? HRM? Was Richard tied to Jacob and now that he's dead he's not anymore? Or are they literal chains, like, say, on the Black Rock? Also...the dirt circles. THE DIRT CIRCLES! Remember those? and where is this "home' that EVILocke wants to go to?

GAH.

You'll have to excuse while I pick the pieces of my brain off the floor....

What do YOU think?

Because even though there's always buzz about who will and who won't be nominated, especially after both the SAG awards and the Golden Globes are over with, there are always surprises.

Also, I'm not sure how I feel about 10 movies being nominated for best picture. When there are five, it's BIG competition...when there are ten, it's just lumping some good movies together, yanno? It's hard for me to explain, but I feel like it lessens the value of the movie. Because, I don't know, while I heard that The Blind Side was fabulous and I was not at all surprised to see Sandy Bullock with a best actress nod, it just doesn't seem Best Picture Oscar worthy. And UP? Really?

Can we take a moment to discuss Jeremy Renner? Please? This guy is officially my favorite .

If I'm being honest, as much as I enjoy the fashion at the Oscars and the Golden Globes and the SAG awards is about as much as I dislike the fashion at the Grammys. Perhaps it's because presenters and nominees usually shy away from the typical gown and go for something a little edgier (not usually quite as edgy as, say, Lady Gaga, but still) and move towards different lengths and shapes and SHOULDER PADS. So, for the most part, Grammy dresses for me usually fall into the bad and ugly as opposed to the good.

I did, however, LOVE Lea Michelle's look:

And I'm sort of undecided about Taylor Swift's choice...

But pretty much everyone else was a FAIL for me...

like Britney Spears

and Miley Cyrus...just a little TOO old for her

and Carrie Underwood...just a little TOO much going on up top

and Ke$ha

and JLo...just a little TOO much Jekyl and Hyde

and Imogen Heap...just a little TOO much EVERYTHING

Although, we ALL know that's not true because, well, we already know who wins his heart. (barf)

Oh, I am neither shocked nor unhappy to see Michelle and Elizabeth go - - - and before the rose ceremony to boot. Michelle with her "GO ON KISS ME SERGEANT!" and then complaining that that's all she got?!?? Wow. ISSUES, much? And Elizabeth? THE GAMES. my god...don't kiss me, but you want to kiss me, right? but whatever you do, don't kiss me.

Best line of the night? At around the :44 mark of this video, after it was announced that Michael C. Hall won the Best Actor in a Drama Golden Globe for his role on Dexter, Bill Paxton says something....

Now, the internet is buzzing that what he says here is "I lost to CANCER."

Now, if this is true, Bill Paxton is really no better than the role we REALLY remember him for...Chet Donnelly. (It's NOT Titanic. or Big Love. Oh no. It's not.)

But, I'll be honest with you. I have watched this video more times than I care to disclose.
And I cannot see it.
Maybe I'm just a really bad lip reader. Or maybe he didn't actually say it. Maybe what he said was "I lost to DEXTER" which you could see him saying without coming off as a giant dick.

What do you think?
Can YOU see it?
I have much to discuss about last...like James Cameron's hair, for instance. And Ricky Gervais' brilliance...oh my god, when he introduced Mel Gibson? I died. But, as always, it starts with the dresses. Those I loved. Those I hated. and those I had to rewind to make sure I couldn't see outlines of lady bits. (yes, I really did)

The Good:

Olivia Wilde. She is so beautiful. She could probably wear a paper bag and I'd still think she was gorgeous. But, I am happy that she went for understated and classy. And her eyes? STUNNING.

Emily Blunt. I mean, not only does she have the awesome arm candy, but she looks beautiful too. Her hair looked great. And her dress was so classy.

January Jones. Now, I know that some of you might disagree with me here, and while I do take issue with the fact that she's so incredibly wrinkled before the show even started, but I think black is ALWAYS classy on a woman, and she figured out how to make black work for her. I like it!

Kate Winslet. Seriously, when does Kate Winslet ever NOT look good. She knows what works for her and she always looks stunning.

The Bad:

Chloe Sevigny always looks bad. ALWAYS. I think she does it on purpose, honestly. It looks like something she pulled off one of her sister wives' windows. She gets some points for pulling her hair back, though.

Drew Barrymore. OY. And that's really all I'm going to say about that. and the zhu zhu pets that seem to be attached to her shoulder and hips.

Julianne Moore, who I usually think is pretty sexy. YES I DO. But last night she brought both the frump and the dump. This is a fashion miss. A serious one. It makes her look old. and much bigger than she actually is. Girl needs a stylist. PRONTO.

The UGLY:

oh, Cameron Diaz. OH, no no no no no. I shouldn't have to zoom in on my tv to see if I can indeed see your lady bits poking through. That's really all there is to say. I feel badly, honestly, when people this big get kicked off so early. Sure, he's lost 100 pounds since he's been home. But, seriously...dude needs to lose a lot more than that. It's tragic how big these brothers are...and they really need more time on the ranch to lose it...and LEARN how to lose it, yanno?

To be honest, I like that the Tongan cousins were inspired by Sione and Filipe, but really? Do we really need to have another set of Tongan cousins?

Also, I am really annoyed that they made them get up on the scale in front of their friends and family. I mean, really, these people are big. They KNOW that they are big. They live their lives big and do they really need extra humiliation? I am thin and I would be mortified to have to get up in front of everyone I know.

And you know what else I didn't need to see? ALL THE DAMN VOMITING.We get it, you work people out for the first time in their lives and they are going to get sick. Do we really need to see it?

Best line of the night? Michael's "Are my abs showing?" SIGH. I love him already.

So, what's your prediction? Who is going home tonight?

Okay, okay, okay, I may be the only person on earth still watching this show. Actually, I know of at least one other person. But, here's the thing. Many, many, many seasons into this show and many, many failed relationships later, this show has taken an interesting twist, don't you think? It has become so heavily produced to the point where the producers are actually MAKING drama for ratings. Remember that whole Jason/Melissa/Molly fiasco? EXACTLY.

So, it seems this time around...while attempting to find love for one of last season's fan favorites, Jake the pilot, there's a little bit of produced drama as well. There is major production this season.**

The good:
Ali. She's an early favorite for me.
Gia.
Tenley. I like her! I'm glad she got the first impression rose
Rozlyn

The bad:
Vienna. Ditsy much?
Ashely. Flight attendant costume much?

The CRAZY:
Michelle. oh my god. Girl needs to chill the heck out. Seriously. There is no question that they asked Jake to keep her. I mean, Even Ed and Jillian were all, "hello, psycho!"
Channy. oh my god. Girl needs to stop with the "you can land your plane on my landing strip" jokes. in any language.

**MILD SPOILER ALERT!
I don't want to give too much away yet, but apparently, someone leaves the show - is escorted off the show - because there is some speculation that she has been having a "relationship" with one of the show's producers. Only, there was no relationship at all. Basically, the show wanted her off for different reasons, so they produced themselves up a little scandal. CLASSY, yes?

Wow. Wow. This is as bad as...well, Paula Abdul on American Idol. Only a wee bit funnier, since it's an acceptance speech and all. At the Palm Springs Film Festival. For her role in Precious (which I am dying to see. I hear it's amazing).

"You need to be clapping."

We ARE clapping. TRUST ME.
