This week I got a really exciting assignment from urbanmoms.ca and two of our sponsors: Cuisinart and Baileys (host of Girls' Night). Using Cuisinart kitchen appliances to test Baileys recipes, how can you go wrong?

So, recipes in hand, I took off to the store to stock up on those wonderful things you really only get to buy guilt-free in the lead-in days to the holiday season; things like:

  • heavy cream
  • marshmallow fluff
  • milk chocolate
  • semi-sweet chocolate
  • bitter chocolate

Ahhh, chocolate in all its glorious variety! But I digress...this week I chose two candy recipes using Baileys so I could get a jump on my holiday gifts.

You see, my husband and I have lots of relatives who live out of town, so our family sends one big holiday box to my parents and my in-laws respectively, full of gifts for the grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as a liberal sprinkling of home-made candies from my kitchen. Sometime soon I'll post my two stand-bys: white and dark chocolate peppermint bark and microwave peanut brittle. This year, two new additions will be in the lot:

Baileys Chocolates
Baileys Fudge

I'm going to test these recipes today - check back later on for photos and feedback!

WOW! Can't wait to try them. I started shopping for my holiday goodies last night, too. My fridge is reeling from the fat and calorie content it now holds.
