Okay, dear readers...the day I dreaded has come. The day where I admit that I have officially fallen off the wagon and I NEED YOUR HELP to get back on. Remember, way back in my first post, when I said: I’m hoping that by going public with my struggle it’ll help others who would like to embark on a similar journey, and also that it’ll help me stick with it once and for all. You can call it support if you like; I’m going to call it the shame factor: see, if all of cyberspace has access to my weight... More »
Losing It!
My husband is out of town. For 11 days (well, five down...six to go). In some ways, I was looking forward to him being away (sorry, Hubster!). Why? Well, it's just one less person to worry about it the house, you know? No 4:00 rush to tidy up toys, get dinner started, vacuum the after-school snack crumbs off the kitchen floor. AND! Precious alone-time...just-me-time after the kids go to bed. So, those are the good things about Hubby's trip. The bad things? Well, that alone-time is great for about the first hour or so, then it just starts feeling... More »
Week: 25 Pounds Lost: about 43 There was no Weight Watchers meeting this weekend because of the Remembrance Day holiday, so I had to rely on my home scale to get my weight. Problem is, this digital wonder (which can also calculate body fat percentage) has somehow gotten converted from pounds to kilograms, and won't seem to switch back (despite repeated toggling of the lb/kg switch), so I can't be absolutely positive, but I think I lost about a pound this week... I had out-of-town visitors this weekend (in-law and step-in-law) who hadn't seen the hubster or me since... More »
Week: 24 Pounds Lost: 42.2 WOW. To see it up there in black and white, the numbers are really quite impressive, aren't they? I was thrilled this Saturday to weigh in at a nice, even 175. 175 was a real milestone for me, because it was the point at which I drop down to 22 points (from 24) on Weight Watchers. Why would this be important? Well, because my goal weight is 150, 22 points is going to be it for me. You see, your daily "points" allotment drops by 2 for every 25 pounds. So I won't get... More »
WARNING: mixed metaphor will be uttered in 10...9...8... Oh, whatever, here goes. Call me a Hallowe'en Scrooge (there it is, folks!), but I hate shelling out to kids who are old enough to drive. Maybe this is because I was banned from trick-or-treating at thirteen (when all, and I do really mean ALL) my other friends were allowed to go out that year (grade 8). Well, except I did know a Jehova's Witness girl...I'm sure she didn't go out, but the trauma of being banned from Hallowe'en would have worn off for her by then, right? I mean, anyone who...
