Yesterday I went to a seminar at a satellite campus of the local community college. I had the address, and I'd been there before (once, nine years ago), but I wasn't completely confident in my ability to get there, on time, without getting lost.
As I was reaching for my map book, I remembered my iPhone. And the map app. I tapped on the zero in icon, and the GPS zeroed in on my location (my driveway). I tapped "directions" and entered the address for my destination. A long purple line snaked its way along the map and, as I drove along the route, the little blue bull's-eye followed, tracking my current location. As I got closer to my destination, I double-tapped the map to zoom in and read street names.

As you can see, it tracked the total distance and travel time (pretty accurately, too), plus I could have chosen public transit or walking directions to the same destination.

Oh, you're killing me. I can't convince hubby that this is a must-have for me. He doesn't believe it's the greatest thing since stretch denim.
