Well, I wrote this post, then erased it. Then I rewrote it. Then erased it. This is the third time because I wanted to share some exciting news, but didn't want to sound braggy....
However, I know you'll understand my excitement because I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED! Like, really really published. In an honest to goodness book that will be available in honest to goodness bookstores across the world!

One day, on a complete whim, I noticed a link on twitter asking for submissions for a Chicken Soup for the Soul book aimed at new moms. I thought about entering, hummed and hawed, and finally submitted a story from my own life experience with The Boy about 2 hours before the deadline for submissions. And I didn't think of it again...until....
I got an email! An email saying my story was being considered as a contender for "Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms"...and, just a few weeks later, another email letting me know that I had MADE IT! My submission was selected!
You know, I can't really describe my excitement. It has been an absolute (secret) dream of mine to have my own words and writings appear in a book that someone might buy, and read, and even like! I mean, when my copies of the book arrived on my door step, I literally stopped breathing for a millisecond...until The Boy started trying to rip the pages out and brought me back to reality!
So there you have it! My first story published in a book! "Chicken Soup for the Soul": New Moms will be available in bookstores on March 8, 2011. A perfect gift for the new mom in your life...and, if you do happen to pick up a copy, be sure to check out p. 170...and let me know what you think!!

I know the pic is backwards- I couldn't make it flip properly on the program that we use to do our posts on UrbanMoms, so I just left it:) In real life, the book title looks totally normal, I promise!
