Spinning Out of Control
I know, I know. January is the month of resolutions with diet and exercise topping the list. Well, I am certainly no exception although mine is less of a resolution and more of a practical necessity. I can not afford (both financially and physically) to get any fatter. The 10+lbs I have gained in the last few months is making it very difficult to wear my clothes...or to look any good in them. Also, I had to stop running and, since then, have felt pretty blah. So, before this got totally out of control I decided to get back on track.
Last week I started. I didn't do some crazy diet or my Isagenix cleanse. That may come but now is not the time. I just needed to start paying attention again (oh, and stop drinking a few glasses of wine with my after dinner snack every night). So I ate smart and am starting to feel good. Then a friend of mine convinced me to go to a spinning class. I admit, I was TOTALLY petrified. I have heard horror stories from people about how intense these classes are and I knew that I was out of shape. But, I went anyway and I am really glad I did! If I can't run (for now) this was a pretty fun and tough alternative. I definitely worked my legs and had a serious cardio workout.
My goal now is to get back to where I was this time last year. 10 lbs and some serious elimination of "squish". I printed out this pic as my motivation (ignore the crazy hair please). It was taken nearly a year ago:

want to do the 30-day shred with me? i started a week ago...and it's amazing. Jen, seriously, AMAZING!
