Subject: Soft Porn Fix Needed

Don't get the wrong idea, I don't watch porn nor do I distribute or solicit it. This is actually related to my post from yesterday. I had been talking to a friend of mine about how The Tudors was a little naughty and soft pornish. And we agreed that everyone needs a little dirty now and then.

So my pal, on an outing to the bookstore, decided to pick up a copy of the next Diana Gabaldon book in the Outlander series to give herself a little dirty fix. Anyone who has ever read this series about the dreamy highlander, Jamie, knows that this historical fiction can get a little naughty. Anyway, my friend was dismayed to see that the only available version of the Drums of Autumn was $19.99. A little steep for a quick fix. So she decided to send me an email knowing that I had read the whole series and might be able to lend her my copy.

So she starts typing the message on her blackberry by writing in the subject line "Soft Porn Fix Needed". Then she puts in the body copy "Can you lend me the Drums of Autumn". Now for some strange reason at the very last minute she changed the subject line to "Diana Gabaldon" instead. Then, she hit send and got on with her day.

However, I never received the message. Why did I not receive it you ask? Because she sent it to A DAD IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD by accident! His response to her message? "???". Then she panicked trying to remember what she had written and whether she had made any reference to our tongue and cheek soft porn joke. To my dismay and her complete relief, she had left it out. Can you imagine? Some random guy you barely know gets a message from you saying "soft porn fix needed"?! I would just die but man would it have been funny. We joked that this seemingly straight-laced dad would show up at her door in a trenchcoat. Oh god did I laugh. And I'm still laughing about it this morning.

The moral of this story? Always, ALWAYS double check your emails before you send them!

i send my friend Kristin emails that are meant for other people all the time. i'm not sure why it's always her. and sometimes i send her stuff i'm sending to my husband. it's made for LOTS of laughs!

Someone else recommended this series to me recently! That's 2 his month. Time for a trip to chapters I'd say.
