Last night when I was putting my 9-year-old son to bed we had a really interesting conversation. First of all I should tell you that my son is incredibly practical and reaslistic for a kid his age. This year's American Idol doesn't only offer some really great talent but it also offers some insight into what I consider to be somewhat of a disturbing trend.
