If there's a downside to putting one's life on pause and picking it up again upon return, it's catching up. Specifically, I mean the laundry. It's amazing how fast it seems to multiply when you close your eyes to it for a few days. Truly.
And in doing all the sorting ahead of time, I realise we have clothes enough for a small load of it's own. Ladies and gentlemen: The Pinks.
Some of the darker hued things are still kind of new, and though lots of items are supposed to be colourfast these days, you don't want to find out the hard way that something bled in the wash. Anyone who's ever opened the lid of a washing machine to find a load of now-light-pink t-shirts can tell you that. So I've been careful to separate them - even from the "colours" pile.
You do sort your laundry... right?
