The golden light of an autumn afternoon streamed down on the kids as they took turns riding horses, then we had a bonfire and roasted weenies. There was nothing Pinterest about it: we ate chips out of econo-size bags and had ice cream cake. But it was so wonderful. Karenna was in her element, having so much fun, and it was a beautiful evening shared with friends all around.
