My daughter has been asking for a laptap for almost a year now so I would most definitely give it to her. Hopefully, she would let her brother use it from time to time. (Uh, not likely)

Would give it to my grand kids for helping them with school. They only have one PC for the whole family so this would be a great help for them!

I'd give it to my 10 year old to help with school work and to help give her some space on her own being able to move it from room to room! She always has to share with her 5 year old TRIPLET siblings and this would be a dream come true for her. I'm sure she'd share with MOM too!

I really need a new Laptop. You've heard the old excuse 'the dog ate my homework'. Well . . . The dog ate my laptop. No . . . seriously . . . you can ask snickerzmom, she's seen it (oh yeah, she recommended I enter this). The dog was teething and I'd left my laptop sitting on the arm of the sofa. The left-hand edge was sticking over the side and Snoopy decided it would make an excellent teething toy. The shift key, capslock, and ctrl key on that side don't exist. The laptop still works . . . but . not . well!

Wow - if I won the laptop I would, firstly, freak out! Then I would use it to store photos of my beautiful newborn son, download music (to workout to in order to lose this post-pregnancy weight) and surf the Internet. If I had one of these I would be set. I do a lot of computer graphics and my current computer just doesnt cut it. Doesn't help that my son has it loaded with games. Hi UrbanMoms! Being a newly minted mom of three weeks, if I were to win this laptop, I would happily use it instead of my antiquated little desktop from my university days (circa late-1990s) to tote around while taking care of my little baby bear.

There is so much that I don't know and/or would like to learn about being a mommy and I am constantly trying to search for answers via the internet. Being mobile would open up a whole new world, so that I can look up information on the fly, no matter where I am in the house!

SOoo..after..well, i'm not going to say how many years...but a long time ago, i went to University and after several years, i'm finally going back to finish. I would love to win this laptop so i could be trendy like the 20 something kids.

My kids can use it as a learning tool - Alphabet learning games, educational movies, puzzles etc.

Both of my daughters have had laptops of their own for a few years, and they have been invaluable to them in their school work. You know how the story goes....moms always make sacrifices for their kids, and I'm no exception when it comes to providing them with the technology they need to make life simpler while I make do. My eight-year old computer is still chugging along, but wouldn't it be great to be able to sit in the garden or at the kitchen table communicating with friends or reading the morning news on a new Samsung laptop? I have been trying to finish writing a book for a few years now.

However, I have been battling Lymphoma and between the treatments which cause exhaustion and the fact that I cannot sit at the desktop computer for any amount of time, I cannot seem to get the book finished. It is all in my head, I just need to get it typed so it can be submitted to publishers.

It seems like I am caught between a rock and a hard place. It would be so convenient to have a laptop so I can work in bed, but with the medication I have to buy every month, the money is just not there to buy a laptop.

This would be a definate welcome addition to our household and would be treated respectfully. I have one daughter in highschool and another entering Grade 8. This would really help them with their assignments as the computer I have is very very very slow and the programs are very dated. As all school expenses have increased each year as the grades go up, getting a laptop is out of the questions right now. To win one would be heaven. The added bonus is the Office 2010 which would definately help them with their schoolwork projects, essays, etc.

I would give this laptop to my 14-year-old son who is my technical guru! He surpassed my computer knowledge years ago and bought his own laptop 2 years ago. Since then, of course, his little brother has been clamouring for his own laptop! So, I would give this one to my oldest and then he could give his old one to his brother.

I'm doing okay, but the slow computer really makes some things take longer than they should! I would love to speed up my work with this sleek computer, and eliminate the clunky desktop from our home at the same time!

i'm living in a MAC world...it's been so long since i've been able to use my microsoft PC native, that i would definitely keep this all for myself! the family loves MAC, and for them it's really easy, but i grew up on a PC and I use on at the office, and I miss my microsoft programs. i think i would even sleep with this sweet baby!

I am a Program Coordinator for a local Parent/child resource centre. We are non profit and run on donations. I would use the laptop in my office at work. I would also use it at home as we currently have only one computer. My 13 yr old is always on and my 3 yr old always wants to be on. The only time I get to use it is after both are in bed and my Dh is not using it for work/fantasy pools! A lap top would be terrific! :)

If I won this laptop, I would use for my new job as a weight watchers leader. I would also use it for my comute to my other job in Toronto. My husband and I have been working very hard, on a cash budget, raising three kids and have little money for extras. This would certaily add to my quality of life! :)

I would give it to a friend whose husband has just left for a three-year posting with the military so she can keep in touch with friends, family and HIM while he is away.

I certainly could use it when I travel as my regular laptop is heavy and 17 inches. These new laptops arrived in stores just after I purchased my second one..ah well. They fit into travelling much better than the original sizes.

Our current laptop is five years old and the battery is completely shot. It takes about five to six minutes to boot up, even after doing all types of computer maintenance. It's not convenient at all to move the computer around our house. With school coming and my oldest in grade 8. I think a new computer is needed for the whole family. One that can move around the house with ease.

I would use it for myself. I am going to University and I would use it for my classes, to write my essays and to watch all of the powerpoint presentations. It would be great to have a laptop because my son is entering grade 12, and my daughter grade 8, so they could use our house computer to complete their assignments. It also would be fantastic to have Office 2010 because that way I know that my software would be up to date.

My 4 year old has taken over my desktop! He loves playing online games like puzzles and memory games. I think it's great for him to gain more hand-eye co-ordination, with limited and supervised use. Given this, it would keep the laptop for myself. I have been trying to convince my hubby that we should invest in one. Winning one would be even better!

Gosh --- so many things I do with a NEW LAPTOP. My grandson's laptop just broke down and a replacement would be just GREAT! I could see his eyes now when I tell him that he just got a NEW LAPTOP computer from URBANMOMS !!!!

Our laptop is old, and now is overheating and getting slow and obsolete, because the battery does not work any more and also the operational is out of date, becoming a hazard for everybody in my home. Oh a laptop would ease my life... the fighting over whose turn it is...the need to edit your daughters homework during supper or breakfast right before school, the ability to work outside around the pool while my kids have friends over and I am lifeguarding...

I've been raising my niece and nephew since their mother passed away about 4 years ago. Money is tight on my income and they don't often get things they want, much less anything they need. They are really great kids and truly deserve such a wonderful gift. A new laptop would be a fantastic gift for them, to help with their school work, play games and download music etc. The most important thing a new laptop would do is allow them to use the webcam to talk and see to their dad who lives over 340 km away in another city.

If I won this deluxe Samsung laptop, I would replace my 10 year old "jalopy" one that is so slow and on its very last legs. Well, I would be very tempted to give it to my almost-16-year-old daughter, and I know she would want it - but I think I would give it to her almost-94-year-old grandmother instead!

My mother lives in Nova Scotia, in a wonderful community of friends but far away from the rest of the family. We keep encouraging her to get a computer so she can stay connected with us via Facebook, share family pictures, look things up on the internet (her mind is still sharp as a tack and she's lively and extremely interested in world affairs), but she continues to say she doesn't have enough room in her two-bedroom apartment, it would be too complicated to install, what if something went wrong with it ....

I think this laptop could be the perfect solution ... and perhaps we'd need to fit in a trip out east to deliver and install it in person!

Back to school means back to school for mommy and daddy too! With 4 children in the house, our current (but no current) laptop lags behind so much that we are always ready to throw it out the window - we don't have the time to wait for it to catch up to what we need done (getting information, sending emails to make plans, registering for activities, taking online courses, and doing homework - all of us)! My husband and I just purchased our first house, and then our laptop died. It would be great to start teaching our son how to use it as well so he can e-mail his grandparents!

I would give it to my 13 year old son. He is embarking on a new level of education this year and has always been a stellar student. My 9 year old boy uses a computer to assist with his learning at school. He uses special programs like typer shark and tumble books to assist him as he has a processing disorder that affects his reading and writing. We would set him up at home with the laptop in his room so that he could have access to these programs and continue to improve his learning skills.

I would share it with my daughter. She'd use it for games & learning, and I'd use it to help run my volunteering activities outside of work like girl guides, and to keep my family organized. My current laptop is on its last legs & can't keep up:)

Our existing laptop is making unusual high pitched noises and we're sure it's going soon. A replacement laptop would be used by everyone in the family: Mom - for email, surfing for info for family and work; Dad - for email, surfing for fun and work; 6yr old Brother - for educational games and 3yr old Sister - who just watches alongside Brother for now.

My son is starting High School this year and as he has ADD and our computer is in the same room as the TV it is impossible for him to concentrate on homework if anyone is watching TV. Having a laptop would allow him to sit at the Kitchen table undistracted whilst we are in the next room. Hi! There are so many uses for a lap top....where do I begin....My son is involved with sports so having it for him to travel on the road, or others to keep up would be helpful. Keeping up with school work for my son and daughter is also a plus! There are so many usefull sites to access and educational ones that are an amazing resource and are fun. When we are travelling, letting family and friends know how were doing is always welcome. I know I like hearing how everyone is doing. My daughter and I have been saving to send her to university next year and winning this computer would help immensely. Intellectually she knows that tuition money is critical, but this computer would help her fulfill her child-like vision of herself as a university student, in a massive library, writing papers on her laptop.

I would let my kids use this laptop for school and researching projects. I think it would make a great tool and help advance their education.

I would give it to my grandson who is going into grade 5. He has a learning disability related to recognizing and understanding written instructions. However, the school has a special program that is designed to help the students but it is a computer program. While he can work on it at school when a laptop becomes available, he can't take the laptop home. His parents have been told they need to get him a laptop, so he can download homework from school and then put it on his laptop at home and keep his learning at a steady pace. Or better still, take his own laptop to school, where he can do his assignments in school, and not have to wait for a computer to become free.
A good one that will last him for a long time is fairly expensive. I am keeping my fingers crossed and maybe I will be the lucky winner.

Everyone in the family has a laptop, except for me. I have an 11 year old Dell that has served me faithfully and now its time for me to expand my horizons and get current with a laptop like everyone else in the family.

I'd give it to my dad. He's never had a laptop - so he's confined to the desktop in our dingy, and window-less basement.

He tries to be really productive, so he'll have the basketball game on or some other tv show, and have to race back and forth to his computer during commercials. And while i do like the idea of him getting some exercise once in a while, he's getting old and it'd save me a lot of grief from having to hear him tread up and down those stairs everday.
