A resort so spectacularly nice, I visited twice - The Crane Resort, Barbados
This is a guest post by Jen's friend, Dara, who traveled with her to the beautiful Crane Resort in Barbados.I'm not a lucky person and I don't often get offered freebies, so when my dearest friend Jen of 30 years called to say she was going to Barbados for a few days and I could tag along, I didn't hesitate, I believe my exact text back to her was "Yes! When???".Crane Beach, BarbadosAnd so a few weeks later we spent five amazing days lounging on the beautiful Crane Beach concerned only with timing our trip to the resort ice cream... More »
Celebrating 110 at the King Edward Hotel
There are a few iconic buildings in Toronto but when you walk through the doors of the 110 year old King Edward Hotel, you can just feel the opulence and imagine all the incredible stories of grandeur (and gasp!...scandal) that have occurred throughout the years. Kind Eddy (as affectionately known to Torontonians) was the city's first luxury hotel. The First Time
You know when you go to a place for the first time, and you are full of expectations of what it will be like, and it turns out to be nothing like you expected, and yet everything you expected all at once? That was Las Vegas for me.I flew in Friday night, and flew home Sunday evening, and in the intervening forty-eight hours, somehow every stereotype I had of Vegas was simultaneously smashed and reinforced. Travel Light with Style
I've just returned from a quick getaway in Arizona. It was 95 degrees everyday and the sun was HOT!!!! I savoured EVERY WAKING. MOMENT, trust me! With the long, drawn out winter we've had in Toronto, I didn't take this trip for granted. I travel frequently and packing what to wear is always fun. No not really. Packing gives me a headache. I'd like to think I'm a pro at packing...but in actual fact I always over pack. I have some idea of what I'll need but I tend to over pack regardless as sometimes hubby drop the "guess what? we're going... 3 Must Have Camping Recipes
My husband took our little boat out of winter hibernation this weekend. I could feel the excitement of a new fishing and camping season just around the corner. Yes. We take part in that great Canadian pastime of summer camping...with a tent, sleeping bags and fireside cooking. We all have our special requests too. My daughter likes to go camping where there are hot showers. My son likes to go camping where there is a wharf or dock that he can jump off of. My hubs like to go where the fish are plentiful. And me...I just like everyone to... More »
