Today starts a new Trend Watch feature. I'm going to show you two products or interpretations of a trend at two different price points.

My recommendation in this case is that you buy low and save the high for a special occasion.
In the interest of full disclosure, Trend Watch is written by me; all
opinions are my own. It is not sponsored. Sometimes I am given free
products to review and sometimes I purchase the products all on my own.
This is one of those examples where I sought out and purchased the
products all on my own.
Many of you know of Hanky Panky's great thongs. Oprah loves them and so do I. They're comfortable, well made and available in all sorts of beautiful colours. They fit great and they're a girl's best friend when it comes to eliminating VPL (visible panty lines). The fact that they're "one size fits all" makes them a wonderful gift idea. But they're not cheap, and depending on the lingerie store, one pair can set you back about $20

Enter Canadian lingerie company La Senza and their Ooh La Lace No-Show Thong. It looks awfully familiar, it's available in a beautiful array of colours and it's 85% nylon, 15% spandex. Best news of all? They're on sale right now 5 pairs for $35!

My recommendation in this case is that you buy low and save the high for a special occasion.

Nice! Will definitely pick some up. Are they as good as Hanky Panky's? 'Cause I love those.
Jen, they're very close. The material is a little less soft, but the tradeoff is that they hold up better in the dryer (Hanky Pankys are supposed to be handwashed, laid flat to dry, yadda yadda yadda....as if that's going to happen!)
I'm a fan of Gap Body's low-rise cotton thongs, myself. They are comfy, flattering, and, well, I'm a cotton undies girl most of the time, so they work for me AND the man who appreciates the thong for less utilitarian reasons.
now, if only i had a butt like the model's....
I would be happy to take this advice, all except for the fact that I have never worn a thong and never plan to. I just can not do it, I have tried. I can't even wear bikini unders. Mine have to be full on boy shorts, and not the cheeky ones either. I am such a grandma.
Yanno, I like the Joe cotton thongs...like Alice, I just feel off if I don't have cotton "down there" and the Joe ones fit well and are priced great. Plus, I can buy them when I pick up the groceries...how convenient is THAT???
I always say i would rather have a wedge I planned than an unexpected wedgie all day long. I buy hanky panky- may need to try these. Thanks
Jen, I love the idea of the hi/lo column. It'll be fun to see the comparisons across a range of categories. Hanky Pankys are my fave undies. Always stock up when I go to Alberta cuz there's no PST I will definitely check out the ones at La Senza.
