I, too, am the official photographer of the family. Unfortunately, our camera broke (our well-loved Lumix that has seen us through the birth of two of our children and all our memories of the last 7 years) broke and we are now using our BlackBerry devices as cameras. Just not quite the same! We have three budding photographers who quite honestly are teaching me tricks. I would love to experiment with the focal point features and would love to video all our Christmas festivities!

I take all our family photos so I need something that is user-friendly but captures great looking pictures and video. This camera seems to encompass everything I am looking for.

This would be ideal for me. I have the shakiest hand when i take pictures. Believe it or not when i am with the kids and my husband is away, i am stuck taking the pictures. Needless to say, my husband isn't too happy. This camera would be great since The LUMIX camer's AF tracking locks onto your subject and keeps it in focus with the correct exposure until you click the shutter which is what i need most to capture the importance and memories of my kids.

Wow- what a great gift right before Christmas. Having a camera like this with so many different functions would sure help me take some wonderful pictures. Our kids are always moving so having the fast auto focus function on the camera would be great and it would mean that we would not have any more blurry pictures. Thank you.

I love taking pictures. Nature, my kids, trips to the zoo etc. Unfortunately the limited capabilities of my inexpensive camera don't allow me to capture those picture to their optimal potential. I am the photographer for my family as well. I have seen the Intelligent Auto Plus in action and I think it would help me take better photos. It would simplify the process.

I am the "family" photographer although my husband is the photographer in our family. I take shots of our family while he takes shots of everything else (including our family). He carries our (3 year old) D-SLR with him everywhere and takes photos daily. The smaller size would be great for him (and for me) and we would love to experiment with the new technology. The photography book I bought for my husband for Christmas got lost in transit and is now out of stock so the replacement order won't be here for Christmas...a camera would be even better! ;-)

I love taking pictures and sharing them with my family, as we live in such a northern community; the only way to have my family watch my child is to video her or upload pics of our everyday lives, and extracurricular's - hockey, skiing, sliding, baseball, swimming etc. Unfortunately, the camera I have now, has a very small zoom, and is low in mega-pixels. So the pictures aren't that great, and often times are blurry. The video is grainy and the sound isn't that clear. I would love the chance to win this camera, I have wanted a "new" and more useful camera for quite some time now. I am a single mom living in the north, and to be honest; the cost of living is high! So the camera replacement, although something I would like to have; seems to be placed on the non-priority list. Winning a great camera to share my video and pictures with my family; would mean the world to me...and them! To be able to take those clear shots, and share would be wonderful!

I realized today, as I was putting together everything the kids need for their xmas concert, that I no longer have a working camera. Panasonic cameras are well-known for their image-stabilization feature, as well as great low-light performance. Both of those features would be a great help with most of the settings that I take pictures within.

I like the "subject reconition" feature. We do lots of photos of our daughter, who's a cyclist and sometimes the camera doesn't focus fast enough to catch her. I like that the camera is still small but like a professional camera.

Oh the things I could do with this!! We just had our third little monster in October and would LOVE to have a quality camera with easy to use features to capture all his milestones :)

My husband & I love to travel, and always enjoy the photos we take while away. We need a user friendly camera, that produces professional shots, that make us feel like pros!

Autofocus is definitely something we could use around here. This camera sounds super user friendly once you get the hang of it.

It would help me improve because it has so many different features and controls that I'd be motivated to get off the Auto like the super-simple point-and-shoot camera I have and try to be more creative.

Thats a nice lookin camera.. The biggest skill that this camera would help me with is taking any photo since my camera broke during the summer. I have missed so many photo memories. And my phone camera doesn't take the best photos so I've stopped using it for my scrapbooking. Even my digital project 365 has been put on hold, September being the last decent photo. I've been downloading photos that other family members have been taking. I so miss being the one to capture my 2 darling grandsons playing together. I Scrap So All Moments Are Remembered!

I love taking pictures of my family, and am trying to teach myself about photography. This looks like a wonderful camera, and I'd love to be able to have the opportunity to try out a camera like this. Thanks for the chance!

I take many photos of my family and as I have never taken any photography classes, I believe the Intelligent Auto Plus would be a huge bonus! It would help my photos immensely!

We love to take impromptu drives to unknown destinations and photograph our adventures !

I am excited about the quick autofocus because my 3 girls never stop moving at the same time! One of them has autism and she is in constant motion, and I treasure the rare photos of her sweet face looking at the camera...this would help me catch more of those.

My husband took my camera with him on the 4wheeler and broke the screen. With this camera I would be able to take better pictures so I would want to take more pictures.

As a mom to two busy little ones under three the Fast auto focus would make our pictures so much better. Our current camera is not fast enough so we hardly have any pics with our little ones looking at the camera. Most of our pictures are candid shots. I would love the perfect picture by lumix with my sweet angels' faces.

We've been using PANASONIC LUMIX cameras for years now. This particular camera was highly recommended by my brother in law who is in the film production industry. He did all the research and said it was the best around! Takes fabulous photos and has many great features that even a non-shutterbug, like myself, can figure it out! Great review!

I would love to take advantage of the fast autofocus technology. There are very few "great" shots of my 3 children together. By the time I find the perfect backdrop, the perfect outfits, and the perfect light, my 3 little anglels have scattered. When I try to re-group, they are already fighting which doesn't make for a great family photo.
So..............we would REALLY benefit from the FAST autofocus technology. Our family and friends may actually recieve a 2012 family Christmas photo.

After reading many of the comments it seems that most of us are the family photographer lol So yes I am also and this would help me to capture better photos of our family espcially the kids. I don't take nearly enough photos but mainly because it is such a pain to dig out my cellphone which is also my camera and although it takes decent shots it doesn't make it easy to set up a shot with the right settings. I would love this camera for that reason alone, the ease of changing the settings :)

I love how fast the autofast technology is at focusing is which would be perfect for taking photos of my super fast 4 year old this christmas! It's almost impossible to get a photo of her that's in focus since she's always on the move

Well I currently use a 3.8 pix camera, yup a bit behind in the times. Am very undecided about what product to purchase next. This purchase is important as the camera needs to be simple to use and assist me with taking better photos. I'm always taking pics of the kids, nature, family vacations, etc. But there's only so much you can do with a camera. I've looking to purchase a camera with a god zoom lense and that's easy to use. With mine you have to adjust so much before you can even take the picture and if the lighting isn't perfect it takes a while for the camera to take the picture, by then the moment has passed. This one looks o much easier to use and the pictures look fantastic.

You had me at 'subject detection'. How many times have my photos almost been *the* perfect photo...until the blur factor creeps in- sigh, again. That may be my little one's legacy, but it seems there's hope- without a minute to spare! I broke the lens off our user-unfriendly camera a week ago. The size of this camera has a definite size advantage over a DSLR, much easier to bring out on the go without sacrificing photo quality.

I have an ancient digital camera. It doesn't do alot. I create art, and often need to take shots of it. Some of my art is done on metal and it's really hard to do a shot and have no glare with my camera.

I spend a lot of time by the ocean with my dog and fellow dog owners and their pets, and my little "point and shoot' camera just doesn't capture what I'm seeing - either close enough, or vivid enough. I am definitely the photograper of the family, although my 6 year old would beg to differ. Every time I turn around he has my camera (actually iphone...as my camera was launched down the stairs by my then 3 year old!). My brother has a Lumix and the pictures are so clear and wonderful, definitely no comparaison to the iphone photos which are grainy, blurry and sometimes don't even turn out! Argh, very frustrating. I really like that it has a touch screen and is as small as an iphone to fit in my purse. It seems so many cameras that have good functions are so large they are hard to carry easily and the smaller cameras don't take good quality pictures. Wow - this camera does everything. With so many features, my pictures would improve. I especially like taking pictures at sports events so this would help immensely.

A lot of my photos would turn out blurry due to my shaky hands, the AF tracking is a great feature to prevent that.

I've been trying to find an easy to use yet powerful camera and I think this is it. Judging by the features and user-friendly menu designs, I think it would be an absolute perfect gift for my parents. They currently have no camera (their last one has battery issues where they have to change batteries every 30 minutes or so).

My parents are not tech-savvy at all, so if they can learn how to use this camera in less than half a day, I would consider it a success!

I take so many pictures, pretty much every day I am snapping away at something. The problem is that only the odd photo really turns out. I have a point and shoot camera, I have longed for a digital SLR for ever, a friend has one, and I would have to say that every photo she takes is amazing. The fast autofocus technology would really help me. For some unknown reason my hand shakes whenever I take a pic. The longer it takes to focus - the more blurry the pic is.

I'm the only one of my family living in North America, my sisters and brother and their families live in Europe. Technology over the years has given us the possibilities to keep in more frequent contact, I still remember the times of postal strikes and high phone bills when it was hard to keep in touch. With this camera I could finally take some great pictures of all the things we only share via computer.

Well with 4 kids I would love to be able to take more photos, but as with 4 kids I have a limited budget, so I end up taking photos with my phone and they just don't have the quality.

This camera has so many great features. I love the auto focus feature. So many times, that can be my problem. I try to take the shot, but I just don't get it. With this feature, I could also get creative with my images.

I didnt realize how bad my camera actually was, as normally I just snap pictures close up. I went to my step daughters graduation and we sat maybe 5 rows from the stage. The camera should feel like an extension of the photographer, rather then a separate unit. The LUMIX seems to be designed to help capture the moment, yet lets the photographer enjoy real life while it happens.

The Panasonic LUMIX camera would be a godsend - I have two active children and trying to capture them on film is like trying to photograph a unicorn or Santa - it's just not going to happen ... LOL My mom has a LUMIX and I love the photos it takes. Hers is just a simple point and shoot digital but the photos are clear and crisp. I would be so excited to start a photography course with this camera in hand!

Improve my photography skills??? What photography skills? I have a lovely granddaughter who I would love to take loads of pictures of. She deserves to have the best pictures taken.

I am the family photographer not only for my immediate family but also for my sister and her family. She isn't one for taking pictures or putting them in albums so I've been taking pictures of her kids since their births. Often when "the girls" 'come over, they look through the photo albums to see how they've changed over the years and they loving looking at photos of when they were little. The memories are priceless and the best way to show it is through a photograph where you can re live those memories over and over!

I am our family's "official" photographer - you can tell since I am not in ANY of the family photos - lol.

The LUMIX would help me with my photography skills because I'd be able to capture the moments of my kids lives clearly. Right now, I click away with an old point and shoot Kodak which leaves many photos fuzzy or improperly lit. With the LUMIX, it would help me especially with focusing, so the photos I'd capture would be perfect!

The autofocus function on the LUMIX camera is a wonderful feature. No more blurry shot that I am famous for.

The autoshoot and subject detection will help me most, I think. I foster cats for our local animal shelter, and like to take photos of my charges. And they don't always sit still for photographs. So I have a lot of blurry images of Fluffy and Snuggles.

Having recently moved to the far north of Canada, I have a whole new area to photograph and send to my family so they can see how beautiful it is up here.

I am the family photographer in our house as well. Having a camera with different settings would allow all of those soccer action shots to come out crisp and clear, and let me capture beautiful kids photos as well. Our 6 year old daughter has become quite interested in our basic little digital camera, thus it is showing a little wear and tear!

I am also the family photographer of our family! I have been taking pictures for years with our little 7.2 megapixel camera, and needless to say, the quality is horrible. I would weep tears of joy to win the Panasonic LUMIX camera. Just thinking of all the different settings I can play with, especially the Subject Detection!! My kids are so fast, most of the pictures I take end up with a blurry arm or head. The Intelligent Auto Plus option also sounds like a huge help for those times when you want to take a pic with ease!

Winning this camera would bring our family photos back to the walls and not just the 'wallpaper' on our phones. Currently we have a little digital camera not capable of capturing 7 and 8 year old athletes, dancers, singers and artists in action. Indoor photos would be possible again, artistic lighting, focus, high resolution, wow, we could really use this amazing camera!

I take ALL the photos in our family and currently have a small (and very pink, I might add!) camera that doesn't take very great photos. I love the autofocus technology. It is so hard capturing our sons since they really are always on the go so the quickness of focus is key in getting a quick , infocus shot. With a full house house, 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 boys and a husband who loves photography we frequently take photos but find that many of them are out of focus and maybe with this camera we could have more photos worth sharing!

I'm the family photographer as well and its so hard to get those perfect pictures with young kids. When you finally get the perfect pose, the pic usually turns out blurry just to make it that much more frustrating. I've never taken photography classes and other cameras with lots of features intimidate me. This one looks like something I could figure out more easily to have, as you said, more artsy shots in my collection. The hd video would be great to have since I don't have a camcorder and have wanted to take home movies on many occasions.

I am the official photographer of the group. I don't have a camera that ever works or last long enough so anytime I am at an event of family function the camera's are given to me and I capture the moments for my friends anf families. I would love to have a camera that actually works so I can take some of my own memories home with me.

A Panasonic LUMIX camera would help you improve your photography skills because:

1) the AF tracking will lock onto my subject and keeps it in focus with the correct exposure until I click the shutter

2) Intelligent Auto Plus allows me to point-and-shoot

and

3) Fast autofocus technology .... could've really used this in Maui when I wanted to take pictures of the whales! All my pictures were of splashes instead!!

As a mom, I too tend to be the photographer of the house! This camera definitely looks like something that would allow me to get great shots of my four busy boys without too much fuss! I love all the features it offers but also love that you can switch it to automatic and let it do the work!! I love the thought of being able to take pictures of my family that don't look like they were taken by me!

I really like the fast AF technology to be able to obtain 'real' photos rather than everything looking so posed.

Do you have a couple hours to go through all my failed photos?!? Need I say more about how bad it is? At the school Christmas concert this year (in a well lit gym) no matter what setting I used I got dark, darker or darkest in return with my photos. And did I mention that even the paper gingerbread men on the wall had red eye?!? I know! That's crazy. Clearly I need all the auto features that the Lumix has to offer.

The auto intelligence feature would be great as I am not a great photo taker. This camera would greatly help me take wonderful photos despite my lack of skill!

My current camera has a broken flash, so any indoor shots are blurry and dark - I'm pretty sure this camera could improve on that! :)

The Panasonic Lumix sounds like the perfect camera for anyone who loves to take pictures no matter what skills they may have.
I love taking photographs and was given a decent camera a few years ago from my Mom when she upgraded to a better one. I'm finding as I get older though, I am getting shaky when trying to take a picture and it turns out blurry like they were running around when trying to take the picture, but they were standing perfectly still.
It's very disheartening as my girls are getting older, and in just a couple short years, my oldest will be leaving home and will likely end up living a few hours away from me; meaning I won't get to see her as often as I'd like.
I like taking my own photos so that I can just email them to my family who live very far away. My mother and stepdad live in BC and my only sister lives in Australia so I rarely get to see them. My extended family all live far away as well and rarely get to see them either but like to be able to update pictures so everyone can see the changes in them as they get older.
I also love taking action shots..whether it's us out snowmobiling, fishing, running around playing, etc. My current camera while it used to be great, has now become a chore with having to dig out the manual to change settings as needed and getting crappy pictures out of it from having the wrong settings picked or just the shakes being so bad I give up.
I dread having to get it out to use as it is the best one we have at the moment and well...a new easy to use great camera is soo not in the budget anytime soon. As much as I would love to be able to take classes, I have neither the time, nor the finances for an "extra" like that.
I simply would love to have an idiot proof camera that I can take family photos, but also one that I could hand to my kids to take pictures of things they find interesting or important..what a great way to see the world from their eyes.

I got my first camera when I was 12 years old for Christmas. I fell in love with taking pictures. I took pictures of everything. As I got older my family always expected me to take pictures of them and still do. I still use a manual camera but it's time to move on to the latest camera. This camera would be a great start in that direction!

I would love to win any camera, but to win this one in particular would make my Christmas. I love taking pictures, but unfortunately I have an old 7 pixel camera, it's not the greatest, but Camera's are so expensive and my budget is low. Christmas in my household is mostly focused on my children, so splurging on a new camera, is not wise. i love taking pictures of my kids but i find it difficult to buy a good camera since they can be so expensive, i live far away from my parent and pictures is the only way they get to see their grandchildren growing, winning this would be more than valuable to my life

'Well here's a lovely picture of hmmmm??? I think it's at the dance concert or was it at the baseball game. Ummm, a little blurry I can't really tell what it was or who it was.' That's how my moving subject pictures turn out - unrecognizable. I could really use the help of Fast Autofocus Technology and Subject Detection. Then when I ask my friends and family if they would like to see my pictures, they won't find an excuse to leave.

Well, for starters, this camera sure beats my cell phone camera, for clarity and professionalism of picture-taking! Also, it is a hassle, trying to download pictures from my phone to my computer, and they never come out looking very good.

My camera on my phone doesn't quite take the pictures I want to capture of my daughter, they're either blurry or streaky due to even a mm movement, with children it's hard to take still photos of them period, so with a camera like this it would be easier to create and capture moment and actually be able to see them in their full color. I like the mini-ness of it too, easy to just take with you anywhere!

This camera would definitely improve by photographic skills and I sure need all the help I can get in this area as I am not a techie.

With all the cool features the Panasonic LUMIX comes with, who wouldn't be a better photographer because of it! Personally I too can imagine how the fastest auto focus technology will come in handy with my super active boys and I'm sure with some practice with the LUMIX, my photography skills will be improved in no time!

we were just in Mexico and our camera is so bad. Our pictures did not turn out well. The sun/beach pictures were to bright and the night pictures were dark and blurry. We are going back next year to get married. I really need a good camera so I don't have crappy wedding pictures!

As I am very technilogically challenged, this compact camera that has the autofocus feature and seems to be easy to use, will be great when I take pictures of the family and will give me that little "boost" to produce more professional pictures.

This camera would be great to capture the early Christmas morning surprises for my 2 year old grandson. This is the first real Christmas for him as he knows who HO HO HO is and can not wait to open the presents! It would be wonderful to be able to capture that on the still and video shots to preserve for years to come!
