Wow!....it's hard to pick just one....but the Arbutus (menziesii), which is unique to the west coast of North America, has beautiful honey-fragranced flower clusters in April and May.......they're a magnet for hummingbirds, as you can well imagine. I really look forward to walking along the trails and in the parks where these trees grow - they're a feast for the senses!
I love the sweet smell on the wind of growth. grass greens... buds swell... a few brave bulbs blossom... the balsam fragrance of the trees in the woods.
Hyacinths!! They are such a wonderful floral smell but not too over powering! I actually buy some every spring just to be able to plant them in the fall for the next year!
