Late last week, we packed up the car, loaded the kids and started what ends up being a 16 hour drive to find sun, surf and undivided family attention in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
This is our fourth summer making this annual family pilgrimage, and we've developed some amazing traditions and try something new every year.
So far there has been planty of this

with a little of this thrown in for good measure.
I've spent a considerable amount of these first few days patting myself on the back for all that I remembered to pack in our bags. The boys have their baseball gloves, my daughter's got her favourite bathing suit, we've got ten gazillion bottles of sunscreen...we are ready for a week at the beach.
What did not make it down, unfortunately, were my razor and shaving cream. Uh oh...as ready as I am for the beach, I'm not sure the beach is ready for that! Luckily I found a review sample of the Schick Hydro Silk in the bottom of my bag. Though I initially rolled my eyes at the packaging's promises of "water-actviated moisturizing serum", one shower without shaving cream has made me a convert.
This is a fantastic drugstore find priced under $10 that will save you on your next vacation. It eliminates the need to pack shaving cream and moisturizer, and two days in I'm smooth and moisturized. I'm a convert.
Now back to the beach...I have waves to jump!
I was given one of these razors for free at Vaughan Mills awhile back when they were doing a promo. I LOVE this razor.
It's the only one I'll use now.
