Eyeliner For My Fellow Brown Eyed Girls (Sha la la la la!)

Man, us brown-eyed girls get the shaft, don't we? It seems every magazine is just BRIMMING with tips for girls with green and blue eyes, telling them how to make their (already gorgeous!) eyes stand out, but all we get is, "here's some grey shadow; make them smoky, or something."

Good news! If you -- like me -- have brown peepers (did I really just use that word? Yes? Okay, then!), and want an easy yet effective way to make them shine, I have a solution: deep-colored liners! A lot less harsh than black, and much more low maintenance than a smoky eye, they make dark eyes pop in a subtle way. I look for shades in deep eggplant tones, and dark navy shades.

Here are three of my favorites:

What are your favorites to make your eyes pop?

Bobby Brown, Espresso Ink, a gel eyeliner that you apply with a brush. Staying power is excellent and it doesn't look harsh like liquid liner or smudge like pencil.

I *LOVE* Urban Decay's 24/7 Liners. My eyes are crazy sensitive, and those liners never bother my eyes -- even lining the rims!* I've always worn Stash because I've got brown hazel eyes, but I'll try Rockstar now.

*I once had an obnoxious boyfriend who was in a technical theatre program, and he kept calling the inner rim of an eye "the table". As in, "Oh, you line your TABLE now, do you?" OBNOXIOUS.
